How to draw female hands

When you are drawing female hand, it's almost the same as Male's. Only a few things to remember. Female hands are more smooth, flawless. The palms are smaller than men, fingers are thinner what makes them look longer, plus drawing a finger nails. Don't think that female finger with nails are going to look even longer, no big mistake. It has to be proportional. For example, try to measure your hand and see how the proportion goes. Then go to somebody you know and ask them to do the same. If you don't want to let other people know that you are checking their hands out. :) Just tell them that the right hand, when it folded into a fist it indicates how big once heart is in a physical matter. The person will make a fist automatically. :) Enjoy!

This is a great lesson to make into a hub. For some reason, hands were always the one thing that I had trouble with-I have gotten much better than I use to be with them (I think they are beautiful when they are drawn correctly-but when they are a little off- not such a great piece of art to display). Thanks for the excellent lesson!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts H.C Porter.

I used to draw hand very poorly, but the only reason I got better is because I have been practicing.

But if drawings of hands does not come out the way you want them, it's still an art.

For example, check out Salvador Dali his drawings are not so great, but his drawings became famous and sell for thousands of dollars.

Be an Artist come up with your own hand drawings and your own compositions. The drawings doesn't have to be similar to someone else's work. The more unique they are the better. :)))

Very true... The art is in the creator just as much as it is in the piece itself, if not more. I have some really horrible sketches of feet I suddenly feel better about :)

You have some great lessons in your collection of hubs-I am going over some of them now, to see if I draw the way that your lessons suggest :)

The way i was thought is to practice. The lessons... that's good, to know the strokes. Like Mohammad Ali said "Impossible is nothing" and I add... "Practice Makes perfect and perfection is everything" :)))
